WTB, HAF, WTF? Acronyms and jargon, busted

As with any community, there are some acronyms and lingo that get used a lot around here, and when you’re new, it might as well be a different language. So, here are the most common ones, explained. If you’ve used forums before, or are an old hand in the IM industry, some of these will be familiar. But for those who are entirely new, it’s handy to know what they all mean.

• AMP: Accelerated Mobile Pages
• AR: Alexa Rank
• BL: Backlinks
• BST: Buy Sell Trade (this is the old name for Marketplace threads)
• BTC: BitCoin
• CF: Citation Flow
• CPA: Cost Per Action
• CPC: Cost Per Click
• CTR: Click Through Rate
• DA: Domain Authority
• EAT/TEA: Expertise, Authority, & Trust
• EPC: Earnings Per Click
• FM: Flow Metrics
• HAF: Hire A Freelancer
• IM: Internet Marketing
• IMO: In My Opinion
• JV: Joint Venture
• LF: Looking For
• OP: Original Poster
• ORM: Online Reputation Management
• PA: Page Authority
• PBN: Private Blog Network
• PPC: Pay Per Click

Jargon

• Conversation: This is what we call private messages. So if you want to send a PM, you need to start a conversation.
• Marketplace thread: For $30 you can create a thread to sell your service.
• Mod: short for moderator - the volunteers and staff who keep MMO in line.
