Where to start developing Pinterest - and what for?

Hi! Looking through this thread, I’ve noticed that many people use Pinterest solely as a way to drive traffic to other, higher-priority platforms.
However, perhaps there are unpopular strategies for using it to make a profit?

I recently became familiar with this, but I have absolutely no idea how profitable interaction with this platform can be in the context of informational pins, rather than creative ones.
