Can it hurt your whitehat status if you fake your social proof?

I was thinking to create an ebook and sell it but obviously I lack enough social proof about the subject, what if I fake it and overhype myself with things that I have never done? is this a good idea?

I wouldn’t do it personally. If you are writing about something you have knowledge of sometimes that’s just good enough. A lot of people use pen names even if they are experts for many reasons but if I was putting my name on it I would make it credible. I wouldn’t want something to come back later and ruin it.

My thoughts are that if you are going to write a book whether it’s by you or a pen name write it with authority. Research the subject. Quote sources and make the content valuable to the reader.

A well researched document had a good amount of weight to it.
