Effective workaround for registering international tlds

Hey BHW,

I'm in the US looking for a reliable way to register international tlds with residency/citizenship registration restrictions (for example .es requires "registrant and admin contacts must enter a VAT ID, resident alien ID, or generic ID (passport number, driver’s license number, etc").

Does anyone here know a registrar workaround to this? I'm aware of irondns.is, but the subscription fee isn't something I love the idea of paying if there's a better way).
