Hi everyone,

I'm curious about your experiences with Google re-ranking pages after updates.
When you update a single piece of content (let's say a page, a blog post or a product), make onpage optimizations, how long does it usually take for you to see changes in your search rankings for this page and your main KW of it?

Thanks for sharing your insights!

There is no specific time for the rankings. It usually take 2 to 4 weeks and sometimes it will take more time. There is no guarantee and also it depends on the quality of the content, competition, and authority of your site. If your site have good authority and you keep the site updated it may be faster. If you updated the page, promote the article on social medias and build links from relevant sites.

Within a few days to a week for minor updates, while major content overhauls might take several weeks to a few months. Google Search Console to request indexing can expedite the process, but more overall site authority and the nature of the updates significantly influence the re-ranking time.

There is no Guarantee, however sending some social signals or using indexer tool might help, however if site is sandboxed google will keep your traffic at certain level, if those new pages are indexed, some other old pages will get de-indexed

You have to make sure the page is recrawled,
It might take months for the urls to get recrawled, especially for new websites with low authority,
Basically G will keep using the same old cached version of your page and won't consider any changes if it's the case,
Make sure to submit the URL to GSC and it would typically take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days to get recrawled,

From there, it will anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks for your changes to take effect on the SERPs,
Again everything is based on the domain & page authority and newer websites will take longer time most of the time,
If the website is penalized it would take up to a year if it ever recover,

Everything aside, most people are over estimating the on-page seo & content, they won't magically change your rankings overnight for most cases,
If you're ranking anywhere in the top 100 and have the least unspammy decent content, you simply need more authority to rank
