Below is a summary of the survey results of a recent online reputation management company.

*88 percent of people trust online reviews as much as they trust recommendations from their best friends.

*80 percent of people would rather go somewhere else if they read bad reviews about your business online.

*Customers who had a bad experience are two to three times more likely to write an angry review than customers who had a great experience are to write a happy review.

*One negative review online (when not countered by positive reviews) can cost 30 new customers.

**It takes 12 positive reviews to counteract the bad side effects of just one negative review.

I also search reviews for any new business I am trying. So, I can assume many other users must be doing the same.
