Anthropic’s updated Supported Regions Policy, taking effect on November 12, explicitly bans accessing Claude (including Claude Code and the API) from unsupported countries—even for staff/contractors of US-domiciled companies using corporate credentials.
As a remote contractor based in an unsupported region working for a US agency, I’m seeing a potential minefield here. If the enforcement relies on pure IP/geo checks, does this mean US companies will risk corporate account suspensions just by having overseas talent on their teams?
How are other teams/agencies handling compliance and connectivity for international contractors without triggering account flags or VPN blocks? Would love to hear how folks are framing this to their US admins, or if you're migrating API workloads to bedrock/Vertex to bypass native platform geo-locks.
Thanks in advance!
