Should I rent a phone number to verify my social media accounts?

How's it going guys, I've always wanted to ask. If I should rent a phone number to verify my social media accounts? I do usually verify my business/personal accounts with my personal phone but since I encountered problems losing my account recently due to negligence (didn't update my contact infos and forgot my password) scares me out for my business like what if I can't access my phone number. So I'm thinking to look for a provider who will provide me rental non voip numbers for verification purposes and for me to not expose my personal phone number with my business. but question, is it safe tho?
